A is for August, Abundance and Alignment
Abundance & Alignment
It’s August and the sun is serving up all sorts of health benefits. Sunlight generates the production of vitamin D, supports bone health, lowers blood pressure, prevents disease, and promotes good mental health! While we are soaking up all the benefits the sun has to offer, with sun protective skincare products of course, we are also pouring this abundance of energy into getting prepared for the fall. Creating alignment between our habits and goals.
Does your calendar, checkbook and daily habits mirror your goals Kindness Warrior? All these, big and small, investments of our time, treasure and talent can get us a step closer to our goals or they can keep us stuck. So here are some tips for maximizing the remaining weeks of summer.
Be Kind to your MIND
Tidy up a corner in your home to create a meditation area.
Meditate. If you need some guidance we love the Insight Timer app.
Journal.
Practice a ritual, for example write a letter to pain body and burn it, to release stagnant thoughts, feelings, and events. Clear out those mental and emotional cobwebs.
Read a book, in a hammock if you’re so lucky.
Be Kind to your BODY
Adopt a morning stretch routine. Before you hop right in to your day take a few minutes to wake up your body.
Increase your water intake.
Decrease your caffeine intake. No judgement, we love our coffee too!
Be Kind to your WALLET
If you’re heading back to the office for work pack your lunch and snacks. Eating out is pricey, especially now.
Set a budget and stick to it!
Meet with a financial advisor to see if you’re on track to meet your financial goals.
Be Kind to your NEIGHBOR
Plan a neighborhood picnic. Dining outdoors with neighbors is a great way to build community.
Tidy up your yard. Curb appeal impacts the neighborhood and your property investment.
Be a mindful pet owner. Picking up after your pet is the bare minimum. Be mindful that not everyone loves or feels safe around animals.
Handle conflict peacefully. Issue related to our homes can get heated quickly so take your time and seek outside support if needed.
Be Kind to your PLANET
Invest in solar panels.
Plan your trips ahead of time to reduce your gas consumption. Having a well planned route vs. double backing or take “quick little trips to the store” can really add up.
Volunteer with a local trails restoration organization. One of our favorites is Mountains to Sound Greenway.
